A whirlwind is about the only way I can describe this past week and I assume next week will also follow suit. I guess I'm a mixture of excited, nervous, excited, tired, and excited. I've said a lot of goodbyes, but I feel like I've been saying them awhile.
I fly out at 6ish from Cincinnati on the 17th so that means I have less than a week at home. I've already done a lot of preparation so packing is really the only thing left (which I'm not saying is easy...). I was really nervous about my visa, because I applied for a 10 year travel visa. The day after I decided to stop worrying, it showed up in my mailbox haha. My flight is really awesome, it includes Paris, and my longest layover is only about 3 hours long. I was also commissioned as a missionary at both First Baptist Church Somerset and FBC Richmond and I can't say enough how encouraging and reaffirming that was.
During these past couple weeks I've read a lot about Mother Teresa and have a better idea about what I'm getting myself into. If you have never picked up a copy of "Come Be My Light" you should reconsider your life choices. Haha, but really it is amazing to read and has been great in preparing me for the adventure to come. I'm doing my research, kids!
So, the next week will be for preparation and goodbyes. It's hard leaving but I think I'm ready. It has been great to see so many people these past couple days and I've felt an overwhelming sense of support from so many of you. So thank you all for that. Can't wait to tell you about everything.
PS... Mom bought me a cuddle buddy.... His name is name is Indy and I will hug him when I get lonely. He also has velcro hands so he can hug me back... And he was made in China so he's also a world traveler!
